Recipe by Scott St Mary, Cedar Brook Farm Maple Confections
Ingredients:
1/2c (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
1c NYS Pure Maple Granulated Sugar
1tsp Vanilla
1 Large Egg
1/2tsp Salt
2c All-Purpose Flour
1/2tsp Baking Soda
Additional 1/2c + 1tbsp NYS Pure Maple Syrup (very dark/strong flavor is preferred
Instructions:
Cream butter and NYS Pure Maple Granulated Sugar together until light and fluffy. Add vanilla extract and egg. Mix well. Add NYS Pure Maple Syrup, mix well. In separate bowl, sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Slowly add flour mixture to butter mixture and stir just until blended. Cover with plastic wrap, chill for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350 F. Drop spoonfuls, about 1” balls, onto cookie sheets lined with parchment paper. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned on the edges.
